5 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek (5 days) is a very engrossing and enthralling trek that is located in the lap of the great Himalayas of Nepal. This five-day adventure is one of the best and most comprehensive ones for those who like hiking, admiring views of impressive nature, and meeting new people.
The first day is going to be the most tiresome one, as we start early with a drive from your hotel to Jhinudada and then trek to Sinuwa. And as can be seen, you climb from 7000 feet to 7300 feet, passing by the beautiful forests and pretty villages, thus preparing for the upcoming days on the trail.
Day 2 is Sinuwa to Deurali, and you gain 1,110 vertical meters (3,630 feet) at a maximum altitude of 3,230 meters (10,597 feet). This part of the trek is more challenging and is famous for high-altitude rhododendron forests, waterfalls, and excellent vistas of snow-covered mountains.
On the third day, we step into the most exciting part of our journey: a six- to seven-hour hike from Deurali to the Annapurna Base Camp, at 4130 meters (13550 feet). This leads to the area known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural bowl shaped by the soaring mountains; the views of the peaks, which are stupendous and unchanging, make the challenging trek worthwhile.
By the fourth day, we reversed our direction and moved back to Sinuwa, coming down from the dizzying heights of the base camp above. This is a perfect time to look at the other side of the landscape, which could be fascinating and tranquil in equal measure.
Finally, on the 5th day, we complete our trek by traveling to Simrung and upon reaching there, we arrange for a private vehicle to drop us off at Pokhara. It is very refreshing to see the lowland vegetation after climbing up and down high mountains and reaching 830 meters (2,723 feet) successfully.
On the first day of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek 5 Days, we will begin our journey to one of the best trekking destinations in the world. After having a good meal in Pokhara early in the morning, we will start to head towards Samrung but on our way we’ll be visiting the beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk. The scenery on this trip is breathtaking and this trip takes about four hours in total. Here is the starting point of our trek, after arriving at Samrung. The route is relatively easy except for the part which leads up to Jhinu Danda.
But, trekking from Jhinu Danda to Chomrong is relatively more strenuous as compared to the previous part. From Chomrong, we will proceed on via a village to a steel suspension bridge and finally to Sinuwa. The general duration of the trek is four hours.
Today, we will leave Sinuwa and then head towards Deurali at 3230 meters above sea level after preparation. In the morning after taking a proper meal at Sinuwa, we proceed towards Deurali. Our trail leads us through the beautiful area called Bamboo first passing through Dovan and then at the beautiful Himalaya. At each stage, the view of snow capped peaks of the Annapurna mountain range rises up to provide a more magnificent sight as we progress towards Deurali.
Tonight, we will stay at a tea house, enjoying traditional Nepali cuisine.
Today is the day to start your trek to one of the most beautiful places in the world, Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). The journey starts from Deurali and it is all uphill until we reach Bagar and then to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) thereafter. After MBC, the trek will take us through the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary. When we trek through this beautiful terrain for several hours, we will end up at Annapurna Base Camp.
Here, expect to be blessed with spectacular top of the range vistas of the Annapurna mountains. That night, we will be at ABC in the midst of the snow-capped mountains.
Today, we will wake up early in the morning at ABC to catch the beautiful scene of the sun rising over the Annapurna mountains. After exploring the Annapurna Base Camp promptly, we will start descending from the early morning with your breakfast to reach Sinuwa, the trail that we followed when coming to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. It is actually a convenient hiking trail since it is slightly downhill for most of its length.
Today, we will return to Pokhara after wrapping our Annapurna Base Camp Trek. As your journey on the trails concludes, we’ll begin our descent along the familiar path that led us to Annapurna Base Camp, making our way to Samrung.
From there, we will transport you to Pokhara, where your trek officially ends. Known as the tourist capital of Nepal, Pokhara offers a myriad of opportunities for you to enjoy and explore, ensuring a memorable end to your adventure.
