The Tamang Heritage Trail trek passes through the heart of traditional Tamang villages in Nepal. It also offers the trekkers beautiful landscapes of the Langtang Ranges, Gosaikunda Ranges, and Tiebtan Ranges as well as the unique culture and traditions of the Tamang communities.

The Tamang community is rich in culture and religion. The Tamang communities are mainly known for wood carving, stone carving, metal-working skills, and their colorful festivals and vibrant musical traditions.

Tamang Heritage trails commence from the Syabrubesi- the Gateway to the Langtang region. The trekkers pass via the dense forest of flora and fauna and the unique traditional villages.

Itinerary of Tamang Heritage Trail Trek

Today after having breakfast at the hotel in the morning we will drive to the north of Kathmandu Valley towards the Gatlang village also known as the Black Village.

Along the way, we will explore the Trishuli River and the Langtang National Park. You will get an opportunity to see the beautiful mountains and the beautiful panoramic views of the villages.

We will stop for lunch and will start forward our trek. After crossing the Kalikasthan, the full off-road to Gatlang village. we will pass via the Syabrubesi, Dhunche to reach our destination Gatlang village for an overnight stay in the Himalayas.

We will explore the Gatlang -known as the Black Village in the morning. After breakfast, our trail passes through the dense forest of bamboo, different wildlife species, and the traditional Tamang Village.

You will get the opportunity to explore the unique culture of the Tamang people their culture, traditions, daily lifestyle, and the festivals they celebrate.

The trail descends and ascends uphills leading us to the Tatopani village. Reaching the Tatopani, we may explore the natural hot springs and have a cup of coffee in the tea house/lodge with the beautiful mountains in front of us. And overnight stay in Tatopani.

Today, our trail passes through the dense forest of Bamboo and the Kharkas-where the Yak and the local animals grazing the grass.

Firstly, the trail is narrow and plain terrain after which we need to ascend uphill to reach the small village called Bremdang.

Reaching The village you may explore and visit the Bremdang Gumba and again climb up hills to reach the flat plateau for your overnight stay in the Himalayas Nagathali at an altitude of 3,165 m above sea level.

You will experience the beautiful landscapes and the snow-capped mountains. You will have pretty leisure time to explore the whole area at your own pace and time interval.

Today is the day to hike to the main highest point of the whole Tamang Heritage Trail. Early this morning around 5 AM we will hike to the viewpoint at an altitude of 4,000M above sea level.

Along the trail, we will encounter the beautiful scenery and the villages also the dense forest of rhododendron flowers, and the wildlife if lucky.

Reaching the Viewpoint, you will get an opportunity to explore the Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Paldor Peak, Mt.Shishapangma, Tibetan Rages, Gosaikunda Ranges, and Tibet Valley .

You will see the beauty of Mt Shisapangma from the viewpoint of the Tamang Heritage Trail.

After exploring for a few hours, we return back to Nagathali for our Lunch and trek down to the ancient Tibetan Village Thuman.

You may learn and explore the culture and the traditions of the Tibetan people and the traditional houses and windows with good carvings.

You may visit the Gumba in the Village and explore the typical local dish in the village. Overnight stay in Thuman village.

Today, after breakfast we will decline down to the Bhote Koshi river. Along the trail, we will pass through the stone carved mani, steeply down ways and narrow path to the river down to cross the suspension bridge. Passing the suspension bridge our trail takes us ascending uphills to the Briddhim village for our overnight stay.

Explore the village in the morning and having breakfast we will continue our trek to the Syabru-bensi.

The trail passes via the villages such as Thulo Syabru and Kyjim villages.

We will have a good time as of our success of trekking in the Himalayas and will have a beautiful dinner all together.

Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS Card)

The Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS card) is most when going to the High Altitude of the Himalayas. The TIMS card can be obtained from the office of the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu.

You will need to provide the passport-size photo and the details of your passport to the permit issuing officer. The TIMS card should be with you during your whole trekking period.

Langtang National Park Permit

The Langtang National Park Entrance Fee permit can be obtained from the Langtang National Park office in Kathmandu and also from the Langtang National Park Office in Dhunce. A national park permit should be issued to enter the National park for trekking purposes in the Langtang region.
