After finishing all the paperwork, we will go shopping around. Our guide will help you with the necessary equipment you will need for the long journey. After every necessary preparation is done, you will then head back to your hotel to prepare for the next big day.
Our long journey to reach the summit of Lobuche Peak will finally get started today. After months of preparation, today early in the morning we will head to the airport after enjoying breakfast. With excitement on our faces and the happiness of getting closer to the tallest peaks of Nepal, we will take a flight to Lukla.
To reach Lukla from Kathmandu takes around 45 minutes and offers a short scenic view of Nepal’s landscapes, villages, and cities from up above the sky.
On reaching Lukla, you will already get a glimpse of being in between the Himalayas of Nepal. The local people will show their gratitude by welcoming you at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport.
You will finally meet the Sherpa guide who will assist you throughout the trek. After reaching Lukla, we will prepare everything, including the porter we have assigned for you. With the completion of the preparation, we will then leave Lukla for the trek ahead.
We will embark on our first trek to Phakding, which takes around 3–4 hours. The trail follows the edge of the town. While trekking on the trail, we will pass through several dense forests and along the Dudh Koshi River.
After reaching Phakding, we will have our overnight stay at one of the tea houses.
To let you know, if you have trekked to Everest Base Camp before, this route follows the same route. The difference is that instead of heading to EBC from Dingboche, we will head to Lobuche.
Continuing the journey, after an overnight stay at Phakding, we will prepare for trekking to Namche Bazaar, which is the gateway to the Everest Region of Nepal.
After having breakfast at Phakding, we will then trek to Namche Bazaar, which generally takes around 3–4 hours. The trails will take you through dense forests, alpine trees, and the banks of the Dudh Koshi River.
You will have to cross several suspension bridges to reach Monjo, which is the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. You will have no trouble getting access because the team is already in charge of managing the permits. Moving ahead, we will then get to see a glimpse of Mt. Everest and other peaks for the first time.
Namche Bazaar is also called the hub for local goods and offers a delightful blend of traditional Sherpa culture with modern amenities like teahouses and shops. We will then have accommodation in one of the finest teahouses in Namche Bazaar, enjoying bonfires at night.
Today will be an acclimatization day in our Lobuche East Peak Climbing itinerary. On reaching Namche Bazaar, we have already reached an altitude of 3,400+ meters, where the air is generally thin.
Due to the thin air’s presence, it is important for acclimatization to adjust within it. We have to consider that not everyone is comfortable with the thin-air’s presence. For acclimatization, Namche Bazaar is the best fit. Since we aren’t leaving the city yet, we will have a proper breakfast while communicating with our travel companions and locals.
We will spend a day exploring the Namche Bazaar. Depending on your preference, we can also hike to the Everest View Hotel. Everest View Hotel is one of the hotels located at a higher altitude that offers a panoramic vantage point to soak in the majesty of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.
After Everest View Hotel, we will spend our time strolling through the local markets, where you will have different opportunities to interact with the Serpa traders, taste delicious local cuisine, and purchase the goods you like.
Namche Bazaar offers a beautiful dawn view, so in this time we will spend time enjoying the beauty while taking some pictures too. We will then have accommodations in the teahouse where we stayed earlier.
After spending a full day of acclimatization at Namche Bazaar, we will continue our journey early in the morning to Tengboche. Tengboche is 5-6 walking hours, which takes you through the uphills to reach the high point along the valley.
During the time we spend trekking in the high valley, we will catch some picturesque and clear views of the mountain peaks. The journey to Tengboche from Namche Bazaar offers both physical challenges and spiritual experiences.
The trail leads you away from Namche Bazaar, gradually ascending through serene forests and rhododendron-covered slopes. The crisp mountain air carries the soothing sounds of the Dudh Koshi River below and the distant ringing of monastery bells, creating a sense of tranquility.
The Tengboche Monastery, which rests majestically against a backdrop of imposing peaks, will welcome you when you arrive in Tengboche. The monastery holds immense cultural and spiritual significance for the local Sherpa community and is a hub of Tibetan Buddhism in the region. The Tengboche Monastery, which rests majestically against a backdrop of imposing peaks, will welcome you when you arrive in Tengboche.
We will then end our day with the beautiful panoramic view from the village and have accommodation in Tengboche.
With successful days of trekking on the trails of Lobuche East Peak, we will prepare ourselves for our next destination, ‘Dingboche’. Early in the morning, after having breakfast, we will head to Dingboche, which is longer than the last day.
Trekking to Dingboche takes around 6 hours, which can be tiring if you haven’t had experience trekking in the Everest region of Nepal. After taking blessings from Tengboche Monastery, we will follow the route, which will take us to the Imja River.
As we gain elevation, the air becomes crisper, and the terrain transforms into a rugged, sloped, and open valley. The route will take us to Imja Valley after passing via Debuche Village. Then, after some time of walking, we will reach Pangboche, which is another Sherpa village on the trek.
Then, after taking a rest, we will head upward to reach Dingboche. On reaching Dingboche, you will start feeling thinner air. We will then have an overnight stay at Dingboche.
After staying for about a day in Dingboche, we will reach Lobuche village today. Lobuche village is also called the guardian of Mt. Lobuche. From Dingboche, it is roughly 4-6 hours of walking, and the distance is around 7-8 kilometers (4-5 miles).
The trail follows rough terrain and can be steep somewhere. As we gain that elevation, the trails become even rougher, and we can encounter some glacial moraines. Walking gradually on the valley wall, we will soon reach the foothills of the Khumbu Glacier in Thukla.
From there, the route is a bit demanding because we have to climb for about 45 minutes to reach Thukla Pass. After reaching Thukla Pass, we will take some rest to avoid any altitude problems. From there, we can have views of stunning mountain peaks, which will help you relax after a tiring walk to reach the point.
Our walk will then continue alongside the glacier to eventually end in Lobuche village. The village is a small settlement with basic tea houses and lodges. From the village, you have a mesmerizing view of Mt. Lobuche.
Today, the trekking will be even more exciting as we plan to trek to Everest Base Camp. Early in the morning, after having breakfast at Lobuche, we will head to EBC, which will take around 7 hours of walking. The trail will take us along the glacier. The route to EBC is rocky and uneven, which can cause difficulties at some point.
During the trek, we will gain a significant altitude, which is Everest Base Camp (5,364m). On the way, we will see a memorial site for climbers who lost their lives in the mountains.
After taking a moment of silence for the lost lives, we will continue our trek to reach Gorak Shep. It is a small settlement that serves as a base for trekkers to EBC. But our trek won’t just stop here. We will keep our bags at the village and then trek to Base Camp. Reaching Everest Base Camp is a significant accomplishment.
The trek from Gorak Shep to EBC takes around 4 hours. After reaching EBC, we will spend some of our time enjoying the view of different mountain peaks. We will then return to Gorak Shep via the same trail. We will then have an overnight stay at Gorak Shep, which will be a joyous night.
This is another exciting day in our Lobuce East Peak Climbing as we aim to reach Kala Patthar, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of mountain peaks. Early in the morning, we will trek to Kala Patthar to have a view of the sunrise. It is about 2 hours of hiking through rocky and uneven terrain.
On reaching Kala Patthar, you can have a beautiful panoramic view of several mountain peaks and landscapes. The main highlight of trekking to Kala Patthar is the breathtaking panoramic view it offers. From the summit, you can see Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and other stunning peaks in all their glory.
After experiencing the beauty of the Himalayas from Kala Patthar, we will return to Gorak Shep for breakfast and leave for Lobuche. The route will follow the same path along the glacier. It will take a descending hike of around 2-3 hours to reach Lobuche.
We will then have our overnight stay at Lobuche where we will discuss about the next big day to trek to Lobuche Peak Base Camp.
The actual trek begins today as we embark on Lobuche Peak Base Camp, situated at an altitude of approximately 4,950 meters. The distance covers around 3-5 kilometers, through rocky terrain and glacial moraines. This advance in elevation brings you closer to the heart of the Himalayas, granting breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.
Following the trail, we will cross the Lobuche Glacier where we will find a mesmerizing view of Thamserku and Cholatse Peak. The 6-7 hours of upward continues again until we reach the base camp of Lobuche Peak. As you reach the base camp, you’ll find a setup that caters to climbers preparing for the ascent of Lobuche Peak.
We will then have our breakfast and set up a tent as we are going to have a stay at a tent today. In our free time, we will have some climbing training from our climbing guides. We will learn using harnesses, ice axes, ropes, zoomers, climbing boots, and other gear. Practicing these gears will boost our confidence and make us mentally strong to climb the Lobuche Peak.
We will then spend our night at the camp where we will enjoy the dinner that will provide us with enough energy for the next day.
This morning, we will have a pleasing wakeup at the foot of several mountain peaks. After having breakfast at the camp, we will leave behind the Lobuche Peak Base Camp. The trail will lead up to even greater altitude and challenges.
As we ascend further, we will encounter a mix of rocky paths and potentially snowy sections, requiring steady footing and proper gear. We will use our ropes, crampons, ice axes, boots and other climbing gear to ensure safety.
The panoramic view that unfolds along the way offers a surreal backdrop. Showcasing the majestic peaks and rugged landscapes. Our experienced guides will navigate through the terrain ensuring safety and offering insights into the path ahead.
We will then successfully reach the high camp. As expected the camp offers a delightful view of the mountain peaks that will make it worth climbing to high camp. Our team members will then set up a tent for the night. From the high camp, you can take a moment to absorb the grandeur of the surroundings and appreciate the unique experience that brings you closer to Lobuche Peak.
Today it will be a big day of our journey because we will have an expedition on Lobuche Peak. It will be a fun and exciting climb to reach the summit of the Lobuche Peak. We will start early at around 1-2 AM because the climb takes longer as we should climb slowly to avoid any casualties.
We should aim to reach before noon because at the summit there can be the presence of strong wind which can cause difficulties. The climb is a 45-degree sloped hill to reach the summit of Lobuche Peak. The cold air and the breathtaking vistas will remind you of the privilege of being amidst such majestic peaks.
Reaching the summit of Lobuche Peak, you will sense the feeling of accomplishing achievement and the testament to your efforts and preservance. The view from the top is an awe-inspiring panorama of snow-capped peaks, a sight that will remain life-long in your memories.
After spending time at the summit, we will then retrace our steps back to High Camp, where a sense of accomplishment and relief fills the air. We will then eventually reach the Lobuche Peak Base Camp, a newfound appreciation for the mountains and your own capabilities accompanies you. The whole trek and climb takes around 8-9 hours which is definitely tiring so we will have our best time resting at Lobuche Base Camp.
After a night with a feeling of achieving an achievement of life, we will wake up this morning as successful climber. We will then have a quick snack and start our trek to Pangboche. The trail will take you to the rugged beauty of the Everest region, leaving behind the altitude of the high peaks.
Following the path of the diverse landscapes, revealing the cultural and natural treasures that define the region, we will encounter several picturesque villages. As we walk ahead, we will have a view of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Pokalde, Kantega, and other peaks. The air carries the aroma of juniper and pine, a stark contrast to the high Himalayan winds.
Upon reaching Pangboche, you’ll find yourself amidst an enchanting village nestled in the mountains. We will have our stay at the tea house which offers comfort, local cuisine, and a sense of friendship with fellow trekkers. With a short walk around the Pangboche Monastery, a spiritual haven, we will end our day with an overnight stay at the teahouse.
We are already on the day 14th of our trek and it just feels like we started yesterday today we will return to Namche Bazaar where we started our trekking. This trek will take you on a captivating journey through the heart of the Everest region, encompassing the diverse landscapes and cultural riches that define the Himalayan experience.
Early in the morning, after having breakfast we will leave the beauty of the Pangboche and descend through trails that wind through rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, and charming villages. It is a bit challenging as the terrain shifts from rocky paths to steep downhill sections.
While retracing the path, you will have a view of the ever-changing panoramas of Everest and the surrounding peaks that serve as a constant reminder of the grandeur of the Himalayas.
With around 5-6 hours of the walk, we will finally reach Namche Bazaar. The vibrant markets, cafes, and guesthouses offer a contrast to the quiet mountain trails. We will then have a fun time exploring the town and meeting the local Sherpas.
Coming to day 15 of our journey, we are almost at the end of our trip. The Lobuche East Peak Climbing journey was fun, challenging exciting, and definitely full of memories. Today we will be off to Lukla from Namche Bazaar. This trek will be the last trek of our journey as we will return to the place we once started.

The temperature during the day is warmer, which makes it ideal for trekking and sightseeing the majestic mountain peaks. With clear skies, it is less likely to rain. Due to this, you can freely walk on the trails without worrying about any disturbance.
When talking about the spring season, it falls after the monsoon and before winter. The rainy days have already passed, and the days during spring have almost zero chances of rainfall. The best thing about this season is the environment after the monsoon season.
The trees in the forest start changing their leaves, which adds beauty to the lush forest. In addition, it is the peak time for rhododendron. With rhododendrons in the lush forests, the beauty of spring is on another level.
Not just that, the spring season offers moderate temperatures fit for hiking and peak climbing. Although nights are a bit cooler and need proper management to prevent colder nights. The best thing about this season is the clear weather and skies. The skies are often clear until the Himalayan region faces some sudden weather change.
With clear skies, you can enjoy the beautiful view of mountain peaks. The majestic mountain peaks will look like they are so close to you. You can always spend your precious time hiking on the trail, sightseeing the Sherpa villages with moderate temperatures and clear skies, with a delightful view of the mountain peaks.
Why are winter and monsoon seasons not preferred for trekking or peak climbing? The monsoon season generally faces huge rainfall, due to which trekking and peak climbing are almost impossible. Also, the sky is filled with black clouds, which is generally not considered the best view for trekking.
And in winter, the days are colder than in other seasons, whereas the nights are freezing cold. With proper management against the freezing nights, we can accomplish the peak climbing. But it is not for everyone because not everyone can endure the freezing cold nights. Also, due to the colder temperature, there are many risks that can lead to severe damage.
Although autumn and spring are the best times for trekking and peak climbing in Nepal, these seasons are usually busy. The suitable temperature and clear views of the mountains aren’t unseen by the trekkers. So, during these seasons, the trails are almost always busy, and it might be impossible to get a better deal with agencies if not booked at the right time.
