The trek starts from Lukla to Phakding – a charming village along the Dudh Koshi River. This short hike will give you enough time to explore the Phakding village and interact with the local communities.
After a night at Phakding, the hike continues to Namche Bazaar, crossing different suspension bridges including the Hillary Suspension Bridge. During the trek, you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park and the permits will be managed by Blue Lake Adventure.
Hiking through the dense forest, you will reach Namche Bazaar which is the home of the largest Sherpa civilizations. There you can have a glimpse of Mt. Everest (8848.86m).
On reaching Namche Bazaar which is at around 3,340m elevation, the air gets thinner because of it acclimatization is necessary to let the body adapt to the thin air. During acclimatization, you can explore the local market of Namche Bazaar and communicate with the locals with the help of guides.
The following day, we head to Tengboche which is home to the largest Buddhist monastery, Tengboche Monastery. You will explore different mountain peaks like Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam during the trek to Tengboche.
The path passes through lush alpine forests where you can encounter different wildfires like musk deer, pheasants, and Himalayan tahr.
The next day, early in the morning we will trek to Dingboche passing through several small villages. During the journey, you can have a view of uninhabited lands as you enter Imja Valley following the Lobuche River.
Because we are already at a substantial elevation, it is important to have a day of acclimatization which we will have in Dingboche. From Dingboche, you can view stunning mountain peaks like Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Cho Oyu, and Makalu.
After a day of acclimatization at Dingboche, we will head to our next destination – Lobuche. Lobuche is a small settlement that offers a glimpse of high-altitude life and extraordinary vistas of glaciers and mountains.
After a long journey, we will finally have our foot on Everest Base Camp. This day will be the most exciting part of the trek because you will get to encounter Everest. Early in the morning, we will leave for Gorak Shep where we leave our luggage to further trek to Everest Base Camp.
On reaching EBC, you will have a beautiful view of Mt. Everest and its neighboring peaks offering the best view experience. During the stay at Base Camp, you can take different pictures and rest so that we can head back to Gorak Shep to spend the rest of the day.
The next day, early in the morning we will head to Kala Patthar situated at an elevation of 5,555m to experience the mountain sunrise. Sunrise among the majestic mountain peaks will be worth it waking early morning.
After enjoying the delightful view from Kala Patthar, we will have our trail back to Gorak Shep to enjoy our delicious breakfast. After breakfast, it’s time to return to where we started. To return, we will take a route to Pheriche.
Since the hard part of the trek is over, you can enjoy hiking through dense forests to reach Tengboche. After taking a rest and exploring places nearby, we will head to Namche Bazaar. At Namche Bazaar, you can enjoy several things like souvenir shops, bars, clubs, restaurants with Wi-Fi, and the Sherpa museum.
The next day, we will trek back to Phakding from Namche Bazaar following the Dudh Koshi River banks. From Phakding we will then head back to Lukla where we will have a last night in the Khumbu region. Next day, early in the morning you will have breakfast and take a flight to return to Kathmandu.
