Itinerary of Ghorepani Poonhill Trek – 5 Days Itinerary

Our journey to the ultimate Ghorepani Poonhill Trek will start with a tourist bus drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. To reach Pokhara we will travel on the Prithivi highway passing through several scenic sights that make the trip even exciting.

Early in the morning at around 7 AM, we will leave Kathmandu city on a tourist bus after meeting with the representative from Blue Lake Adventure. The highway goes along the bank of the Trisuli River and offers views of different terraced fields and picturesque villages.

Within 2 hours of drive, we will have a stop where you can enjoy the breakfast to keep you throughout the trip. To make the long trip more comfortable we will have breaks to feel refreshed. At around 1 PM, you will have a lunch break where you can treat yourself to the local Nepali dish ‘Daal Bhaat’.

Considering the traffics and road condition, we will finally reach Pokhara after 7-8 hours of tiring yet adventurous road trip. You will then be greeted by one of our representatives who will get you a taxi to your Hotel.

Early in the morning at around 7 AM after having a healthy breakfast, we will have a drive to Nayapul. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Nayapul from Pokhara. We will have the drive in a private car so you won’t find any uncomfortable during the drive.

After the drive, we will reach Nayapul where we will take some rest before commencing our trek to Ulleri. In general, it takes roughly 6-7 hours to reach Ulleri from Nayapul with frequent stops.

During the trek, we will encounter several picturesque villages that symbolize the countryside area of Nepal. With our experienced guide, you won’t miss out on any scenic destination throughout the trek.

We will have stops at different locations like Tikhedhunga, and Hille where you can encounter the vibrant culture of the Magar community. Walking on the banks of the Modi Khola River, we will experience the views of several mountain peaks, water streams, and waterfalls that enhance the natural beauty of Nepal.

During the trek, we will have our lunch at around 1-1:30 PM at one of the restaurants on the way. At that time, you can please yourself with the beautiful fresh environment of Nepal.

After successfully trekking for 6-7 hours, we will reach Ulleri situated at a height of 2,050m. It is a civilization of the Magar community which has unique cultural values and traditions in Nepal.

After getting welcomed by the community people, we will stay at one of the finest lodges in the locality. After having dinner at around 7:30-8 PM, we will enjoy participating in fun activities like singing and dancing to traditional songs.

Today we will have a fresh start on our trek in the villages of Nepal. Waking up early in the morning and walking around the villages of Nepal is one of the most joyful moments.

After having breakfast at around 7 AM, we will continue our trekking journey to Ghorepani. On the trekking route, you will get to see different mountain views of some of the iconic mountains including Annapurna Massif (8,091m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,127m)  Mt. Macchhapuchhre (6,993m), Annapurna South (7,219m ), Hinchuli, Annapurna III Dhampus Peak,  etc.

The trekking route is slightly more challenging than the first day as we will gain an elevation of about 1,000m. We will have stops at different teahouses on the way where we will have our lunch to regain the energy we lost during the hike.

Our trekking starts efficiently by walking through forests and meadows to reach Banthati. Later it is steeper as we hike to Chomrong village through rhododendron forest crossing different waterfalls on the way.

After hiking for about 5 hours we will reach a small village Ghorepani which is the starting point for the trek to Poonhill. We will then have an overnight stay at one of the lodges that provides facilities like Wi-Fi, hot water showers, and private rooms with shared bathrooms.

Today we will start our trek early in the morning at around 5 AM to reach Poonhill height to have a view of sunrise. With an approx. 1-hour hike to Poonhill, we will reach the top from where we can experience the morning view of the beautiful mountain peak Annapurna.

We will then enjoy delicious tea offered by the people carrying on Thermal Bottle just for the people who go to Poonhill to enjoy the view. With the best view of sunrise among the mountain peaks, we will live up to one of the best experiences of the Poonhill trek.

We will spend about 1 hour to 1.5 hours enjoying the stunning views of mountain peaks and exploring the places nearby. Also, Poonhill offers several photography points where you can take photos to make the trek more memorable.

With the beautiful panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, we will trace our way back to Ghorepani. We will then have our breakfast and then trace our way to where we started ‘Nayapul’.

The way back to Nayapul can be slightly strenuous as we need to hike for about 9-10 hours. Also, we have to move downhill so it can be tiring and exciting at the same time. On the way back to Nayapul, we will cover up the views if they were missed out.

While watching the beautiful rhododendron forest, waterfalls, and stunning mountain views we will reach Nayapul without even feeling like walking for hours. After reaching Nayapul, we will have a taxi to take us to our hotel. We will look for the best hotel available and have our overnight stay at one of the lakeside hotels.
