Upper Mustang Trekking is an adventure trekking in Mustang region up to the valley of Lo Mangthang in Tibetan Plateau. Trekking in this region provides the chance of exploring Upper Mustang culture which is very similar with Tibetan culture because the people are of Tibetan origin. The land is geographically extended to Tibetan plateau which is barren and deserted Himalayan region. Trekking in Upper Mustang is unique experience of different landscape, weather and preserved unspoiled culture. The magnificent views of mountains and peaks along the trek are impressive with the opportunity of reaching at the world’s deepest river gorge in Kali Gandaki River.

Trekking in Upper Mustang gives chance of exploring and experiencing unspoiled culture of the villages which are totally are isolated and ancient. Upper Mustang is ruled by a local king whose post in Nepalese army is Honorary Colonel. The king of Mustang lives in Lo Mangthang which is surrounded by monasteries and Gompas. The region was the part of Gungthang (Tibetan Kingdom) till 1830’s and invasion included in Nepal. Upper Mustang trekking includes holy trek to Muktinath which is sacred place for Hindus and Buddhists followers. It is suitable region for exploration trekking. Trekking in Upper Mustang leads through rainfall area and reaches to dry land of Upper Mustang through the trail following Kali Gandaki River gorge up to Mustang. Trekking trail passes through some ancient villages that have unspoiled cultures and untouched by the marks of modern development. The region is windy and trail is strenuous with a lot of ups and downs with coming across pilgrims up to the Muktinath Temple. The region is also important for the monasteries which are recorded as oldest of the Nepal. Exploring Lo Manthang valley, Kagbeni village, Muktinath surrounding and many varieties of flora and fauna etc are rewarding opportunities of the trek.

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu, you are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program and preparation for trek.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara 915m. By tourist bus or by flight.

Day 03: Pokhra to Jomsom 2720m, by flight and trek to Kagbeni 2810m.

Day 04: Kagbeni trek to Chele 3050m.

Day 05: Trek to Geling 3500m.

Day 06: Geling trek to Tsarang/Chharang 3620m.

Day 07: Tsarang/Chharang trek to Lo Manthang 3840m.

Day 08: Acclimatization or Rest day in Lo-Manthang. During this, you can make sightseeing or excursion tour around Mustang King Palace and monasteries.

Day 09: Lo Manthang trek to Ghami 3545m. via Gekar.

Day 10: Ghami trek to Samar 3356m.

Day 11: Samar trek to Kagbeni.

Day 12: Kagbeni trek to Jomsom.

Day 13: After breakfast Jomsom to Pokhara.( by flight)

Day 14: By bus/private vehicle or by flight back to Kathmandu.

Day 15: Morning Mountain flight, after breakfast Full day sightseeing in heritage side in Kathmandu such as Pasupati nath Swayambunath  ancient durbar  square…..

Day 16: Flight back to your won destination or joint another trip.
